2021 Champions Review
2021 was a milestone year for the Noosa Festival of Surfing and the Noosa Malibu Club, celebrating 30 years of this amazing event.
In three decades, the Festival has gone from strength to strength starting out from humble beginnings in 1992, the Noosa Malibu Club’s annual ‘Noosa Malibu Classic’ longboarding event had become a fixture on the international longboard contest calendar by 1996, and in 1998, in partnership with Phil Jarratt Communications Pty Ltd, the Noosa Festival of Surfing made its debut.
Over the years The Festival has attracted household names like Joel Tudor, Bonga Perkins, Robert Weaver and many more. But it’s the ties to ‘family’ that the Festival prides itself on. Surfing families coming from all the great surf centres of the world, including Hawaii, California, New Zealand, Japan and Europe. Since 2010, the Noosa festival has attracted record levels of competitors each year, as well as thousands of spectators from near and far who come to see the legends of the sport, as well as the now world-famous surfing dogs.
As we look back to the 2021 event and its many champions, we also focus our attention on the 2022 event and look forward to witnessing another Festival full of world-class surfing from Australia’s and hopefully the worlds best!
